The e-bay Add read:-See the advert for Number Four 'Scruffy'. This is the bike that came 'free' as a spares donor for it, supposedly a Cat-C insurance write off that couldn't be put back on the road, and when we went to get it, very definitely a 'non-runner'.

With my hands full of other bikes to sort out, I could easily have blithely stripped Five-Alive down to major components and added them to 'the heap' as spares.
But there was just 'something' about it, that kept grabbing my attention....
Probably the fact it was the one parked closest to the back door & I kept catching my ribs on its handle-bars!
But, I kept noticing things, like next to that mottled silver front mudguard was a brake calliper with expensive braided good ridge hose, and under that dented bare primer tank was a complete and tidy and useful looking engine.
I HAD to have a tinker, and after just a little playing around with spark-plugs and ignition switches, and swapping the petrol tank for one petrol could get out of.... it started eagerly up!
But better was to come. A few days later the V5 Log-Book arrived, and hunting about to see how this Cat-C write off was recorded, couldn't find it! so I researched the Web, and on the DVLA web-site discovered that IF the bike was a CAT-C write off, then they would NOT issue a new log-book! so it WASN'T a write off, and ALL it needed to see it back on the road, was an MOT!
So I HAVEN'T taken it to bits! I christened it 'Five-Alive' and have NO plans for it as yet what-so ever, but have a feeling that its going to be sticking around. There's just 'something' about it! So Donna has suggested that after she has finished 'the-Pup', she might take on this one, so that we can both have a little dream to ride!
